Archive for January, 2010

I was just looking into a Blizzard fan and was lost into the movement of the blades.

It made me think about an ocean when a huge wave is about to appear. How the cloud looks, how the water changes into a different color, how the sand gets worried and how the footprints will look afterwards.

I then thought about a collection of women walking barefoot with flower petals trailing them in the sand wearing beautiful blues, greens, taupe and orange flowing dresses. Strapless, net shawls and orange lipstick.

Will this transform into a new collection for Mide’?

Who knows, but it is a great vision that the fan created.

There is still time to place or send over your high school Senior for fitting for their custom Prom Gown. We are running a Fantastic Promotion for 2010 Prom that includes up to $250 off select prom designs.

Gown that are eligible to receive the discount must have a mixture of the students design and Mide’ design at time of final order. Color selections must also be in the Spring/Summer 2010 Pantone Color Palette.

If you are a high school administrator, you can score points with your senior class by allowing for fittings to be taken place at your school during lunch or after school hours. Fittings must include five or more Prom prospects and can include a mini fashion show featuring your students wearing designs by Mide.

Flyers are in the works, but as I get ready to show those I am wondering what will come by my desk this year. Last prom season we were presented with some very outlandish gowns, pieces of thread and other wild items for 17 year olds to wear.

I remember one young lady asked if we would re-create a Heatherette $4000 gown for her Senior Prom, I asked my assistant what her budget was and we heard $400. Can you believe someone wanted a remake from Heatherette to Mide’ for 10% of the cost.

I even remember one girl sat in the office and she repeated “I just want it super sexy” over 30 times. She came in with her friends from school and they just giggled and giggled. I asked if she would come back with her mom and we never heard from again. Mind you the design had so many cuts and tears that it literally would have to hold up by super glue!

I am excited to see what happens for Spring 2010. This year we may post some of them online! With the parents permission of course.
